Marc  Tambini, MD, PhD

Assistant Professor BHI/NJMS- Department of Pharmacology, Physiology & Neuroscience.

Marc Tambini is currently investigating the role of Amyloid Precursor Protein containing extracellular vesicles in Alzheimer’s disease. He graduated from the MD/PhD program at Columbia where he studied mitochondria associated ER membranes in the lab of Dr. Eric Schon. He pursued his postdoctoral career at Rutgers in the lab of Dr. Luciano D’Adamio, where he studied the effect of AD-causing mutations in novel rodent knock-in models of the disease.  He now uses those models in his lab to understand how APP and AD-causing mutations change the cargo of extracellular vesicles, and the functional implications of these changes.
